Beginning September 1, 2026
For the month of September, Rooted will not charge a required admission fee for Regular Sessions.
Rooted is growing, and new participants are coming through the door every week. This change is not a response to declining participation or an immediate financial crisis. It is a decision to remove financial barriers and make what is happening at Rooted accessible to more people.
Instead of requiring each participant to pay a set price, we are inviting riders, families, donors, and the larger community to help provide access together by giving what they can.
September will give us an opportunity to learn whether a Community Funded Sessions model can clarify how Rooted is supported, remove financial barriers, serve more people, and provide the sustainable support needed for regular sessions.

Our Roots
Rooted Action Park has been decades in the making. The story began in 1994 when Jeremiah Anderson used his high school graduation money to build his first quarter pipe in the backyard of his family’s home in Elmore, Minnesota. Those backyard ramps became a gathering place for riders from the surrounding area and eventually gave rise to the Chaos on Wheels BMX Stunt Team. From 1996 through 2010, Chaos on Wheels traveled across the country, sharing action sports and positive messages with crowds large and small.
In 2006, that journey brought Jeremiah to Joplin, Missouri, to help lead Autumn Ramp Park. For the first time, the dream of working in an indoor ramp park had become a reality. More importantly, Autumn showed what could happen when ramps became a gathering place for people from different backgrounds to build friendships, find encouragement, and belong. When Autumn closed its doors on April 13, 2013, that season came to an end, and the future of the dream was uncertain.
But the story wasn’t over. In 2022, plans began for what would eventually become Rooted Action Park. Construction started in January 2024, and later that year riders began gathering for sessions inside the new park. Rooted carries forward the history of the backyard ramps, Chaos on Wheels, and Autumn Ramp Park, along with everything those years taught us about the importance of creating a place where people can ride, grow, build meaningful relationships, and belong. What once appeared to be the end of the dream had become the roots of something new.
Rooted Action Park is a 14,000 square foot indoor action sports park in Joplin, Missouri, for Bikes (BMX & MTB), Scooters, and Skateboards. Whether you are learning to ride or have been riding for years, you will find ramps, challenges, and people ready to encourage you.
Rooted is more than a building filled with ramps. It is a community where people of all ages and backgrounds can ride, grow, build relationships, and belong. We want everyone who walks through the door to feel welcome, regardless of their experience or skill level.
Action sports give people the opportunity to set goals, build confidence, and learn to do hard things. Falling down, getting back up, and trying again teaches patience, perseverance, and problem solving. Those lessons matter long after the session is over.
Rooted also gives young people a place to be active, make real friends, and spend time around supportive adults and peers. It is a place where families can build memories together and where friendships can grow beyond a shared love for action sports.
Our Pro Shop is the Joplin area’s only BMX shop and scooter shop. We carry complete BMX bikes and scooters, along with parts, tires, wheels, bearings, grips, grip tape, helmets, safety gear, and other riding essentials. Whether you need a new setup, a replacement part, or help finding the right gear, you can find it at Rooted.
