SPRING 2026 SERIES

February 22 | March 22 | April 26

The Spring 2026 Youth BMX Freestyle League at Rooted Action Park is a multi-event series designed to help riders of all ages and skill levels grow, progress, and belong.

This series is not about being better than other riders. It’s about showing up, learning new skills, building confidence on the bike, and forming real relationships within the BMX community.

Each rider is scored on their own riding and effort, with points accumulating across the entire series.

The season concludes with a Final Event and Awards held during our BMX Showdown contest in May 2026.

Event Dates

League events take place on the 4th Sunday:

  • February 22, 2026

  • March 22, 2026

  • April 26, 2026

  • Series Final: May 2026 (at the BMX Showdown contest)

 

Age Classes (Each age category will include Men’s and Women’s divisions.)

  • 7 years & under

  • 8–10 years

  • 11–14 years

  • 15–30 years

  • 31–39 years

  • 40+ years

*Riders compete in their age group for the full series.

*Age is determined based on the rider’s age at the first event of the series.

 

Schedule (Each Event Day)

  • 1:00 PM – Doors open, registration & practice

  • 2:00 PM – Contest runs begin (youngest classes first)

Contest Format

  • Jam-style format

  • Up to 5 riders of the same class on course at the same time

  • 5-minute jam per group

  • Riders can take as many runs as they want during the jam, taking turns and sharing the course respectfully with other riders in their group

 

Course Details

  • The course will be announced one week prior to each event

  • A different course will be used for each of the three league events

 

Points System

Points accumulate across the entire series.

  • Maximum of 125 points per event

  • Riders are scored on individual performance, not compared against other riders

Scoring Categories (1–25 points each)

  • Attendance – Every rider who shows up and rides earns points

  • Creativity – Use of the entire course, variety of tricks, unique lines

  • Skills – Bike control, flow, pump, speed, and maneuvering

  • Difficulty – Technical challenge and progression of tricks and lines

  • Camaraderie – Encouragement, positive attitude, and engagement with others

 

Entry Fees

Ages 7 & Under

  • $10 per event

  • $25 for all three events

Ages 8–10 & 11–14

  • $15 per event

  • $40 for all three events

Ages 15–30, 31–39, 40+

  • $25 per event

  • $60 for all three events

 

Series Awards (Presented at the BMX Showdown Final)

Awards are given for each age class based on accumulated scores:

  • Most Improved Rider

  • Best Sportsmanship (Camaraderie Score)

  • Best Trick (Difficulty Score)

  • Best Style (Skills Score)

  • Most Creative Rider (Creativity Score)
