Program Overview

Our Summer Ramp Camp is four days of real-world learning, activity, and hands-on fun built around the culture of Rooted Action Park.

This camp was created to give kids something better than another week staring at screens. It’s a chance to be active, build friendships, learn practical skills, and gain confidence by doing something real. Campers will spend the week riding, learning, creating, and helping build an actual ramp feature that will become part of the park.

Using bikes, scooters, skateboards, and ramps as the classroom, campers will explore S.T.E.M. concepts in ways that make sense. They’ll learn how geometry shapes ramp transitions, how speed and angles affect trajectory, how friction changes performance, how materials and fasteners work together, how efficient manufacturing systems reduce waste, and how to estimate the cost of a real project.

Every lesson is hands-on and connected to what they can see and feel. Instead of abstract worksheets, campers will measure ramps, test ideas, compare materials, solve problems, build components, and learn how design choices affect both performance and budget.

Ramp Camp also helps kids grow beyond skills. They’ll practice communication, patience, perseverance, leadership, responsibility, and learning how to work through challenges with others.

Campers can return for multiple weeks and move through achievement tiers, taking on bigger challenges and leadership roles as they grow.

This is more than a summer camp. It’s a place where kids put in the work, build something meaningful, and discover what they’re capable of.
